Summit Plastic Company is the company for YOU We are looking for the right candidate that would have the skill set to maintain the responsibilities as a maintenance technician.

The maintenance technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, repair and maintain the facility and equipment according to safety codes.

Responsibilities:

• Must be a team player and be able to work independently to complete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance job tasks.
• Must be familiar with building Industrial maintenance work/repairs.
• Able to perform planned repairs/unplanned repairs. PM's
• Working with the production manager on issues that arise.
• Needs to be available- rolling on call schedule weekly.
• Works with production crew to maintain and repair thermo forming machines, extruders, and all related auxiliary equipment.
• Assists the maintenance department and takes direction from the Production Crew Supervisor and Maintenance Manager by completing assigned work orders.
• Works on the production floor to ensure equipment is running smoothly to meet production goals.
• Proactively inspects and repairs the production equipment to keep it running efficiently.
• Works with the maintenance and production departments to troubleshoot and solve equipment issues.
• Completes proper paperwork W. O's & P. M's and meets with the shift mechanic at the end of each shift to provide a status report.
• Follows necessary safety protocols and procedures as established by Summit Plastic Company.
• Maintain a clean organized work environment.
• Complete tasks/repairs with little to no supervision

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be able to work with basic hand tools, Volt/Ohm meters and welding equipment and machining equipment.
• Knowledge of and ability to read electrical and hydraulic prints.
• Capable of fabricating parts for new or existing equipment using hand tools and basic shop equipment.
• Good communication skills, including verbal and written.
• Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Able to work overtime and weekends if necessary.
• Able to operate a forklift.
• Own basic band tools/box.

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance/manufacturing plastic machine knowledge.
• Must be able to TROUBLESHOOT and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and components.
• Experience working in a manufacturing atmosphere.
• Valid DL required to operate a forklift or company vehicle.

Education and Experience:

• High School or equivalent GED
• Experience in a manufacturing setting.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 25 to 60 pounds.
• Ability to stand, crawl and walk the plant throughout the day.
