Position Summary

The Director of Planning at Kings River Packing will oversee and coordinate all planning activities related to commodity supply, demand, and forecasting. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective management of resources, optimizing operations, and meeting the company’s strategic goals. The Director of Planning will report to the Vice President of Operations and work closely with various departments to align planning processes with business objectives and market demands.


Essential Functions

· Develop and implement planning strategies to optimize commodity management.

· Align planning activities with long-term goals and market trends.

· Lead cross-functional teams for planning initiatives.

· Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment.

· Conduct performance reviews and support professional development.

· Oversee domestic and import supply management.

· Develop solutions for supply shortages and optimize resource allocation.

· Lead the team to develop accurate forecasts for sales, packaging, and commodities.

· Oversee and delegate order allocation strategy.

· Direct team to utilize data analytics to improve forecasting accuracy.

· Identify and implement process improvements.

· Stay updated on industry best practices.

· Communicate planning strategies to the executive team.

· Collaborate with other departments for alignment.

· Represent the planning department in cross-functional meetings.

· Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

· Prepare and present regular reports on planning performance.

· Resolve escalated issues and discrepancies.

· Perform other work-related duties and projects as directed.

Requirements:

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in, Agriculture Business Administration, or a related field.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience of management, demand and supply planning within the agricultural industry. 10 years preferred.

· Strong leadership and team management skills.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

· Demonstrated capacity to work well with others, strong organizational and communication skills, and service-focused attitude.

· Proficiency with Famous software preferred.

· Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

· Alignment with the company’s mission and core values.


Physical Requirements

· This role may require occasional domestic/internal travel.

· Ability to sit for extended periods of time, working from a computer.
