Production Labor

TMS Manufacturing, a 100% Employee-Owned company with over 75 years of successful operation, is looking for a FULL-TIME Production worker at our Alsip production location. The ideal candidate would be self-motivated, hard-working, attentive to detail, dependable, and enjoy working with their hands. Primary responsibilities of the role include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Label containers (pails/totes/drums) with Finished Product information.
• Move raw components and finished products using various handling equipment (carts/forklifts/pallet jacks, etc.)
• Fill/seal/palletize containers with finished product using weigh scales and lid closing equipment.
• Prepare raw components for production batches based on receipt of the Production Batch Tickets (counting package quantities & using weigh scales).
• Make production batches and perform required checks along the way (getting Lab color approval, sign-offs of material used, final container counts, etc.)
• Record data on production tickets (Qty, raw component lot #’s, etc.)
• Maintain/Clean equipment as required

Experience/understanding required for the position:

• Use of material handling equipment to gather raw components for batch. Must be able to operate a forklift. Experience with Drum picking/Drum dumping attachment on forklift extremely helpful.
• Weigh ingredients required for the batches into mixing tanks utilizing both analog/digital scales. Record data on production tickets
• Mix raw components as specified on the batch ticket.
• Take samples from batch to QC for quality checks and batch approval to package.
• Filter & pump coatings from mixing tanks into appropriate containers for shipment.
• Clean Mixers, Mills, Hoses, Pumps, and tanks as required.
• Participate in Physical Inventory and cycle count exercises as required.
• Computer skills & experience with label printing equipment are a big plus (but not required).
• Assist in other areas when needed.
