Mary's Woods is seeking an AV & Events Specialist to join our collaborative Community Life team. This position is responsible for Mary’s Woods Audio/Visual systems and all aspects of technical and logistical event support for staff and resident programming. A primary responsibility of this role is to be the point of contact for all room bookings including setup details and coordination with staff and residents including a weekly generated report, and also to guarantee event readiness for sound and lighting to ensure optimal live broadcasting and video recording as needed. The role will involve working directly with staff, residents, and visitors providing education and troubleshooting.

Mary's Woods is a non-profit senior living community founded in 2001. We offer independent living, assisted living, memory care and residential care in a park-like setting on 40 acres in Lake Oswego. Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience and skills needed to be successful:

  • Coordinates all room bookings in the WorxHub program managing setup details and related diagrams needed.
  • Meets with residents to review and discuss event inquiries and details, including room reservations.
  • Creates and distributes a weekly event setup report to all relevant parties.
  • Acts as the lead AV technician and production specialist for all audio/visual systems throughout campus including cameras, projectors, PA systems, in-house TV channels.
  • Attends key events to provide onsite, immediate technical assistance for presenters.
  • Provides professional lighting and audio setup as well as recording videos for upload; may necessitate minimal editing.
  • Meets with stakeholders to assess needs and suggests solutions within time and budgetary parameters.
  • Performs routine checks and audits of all systems to ensure integrity and availability.
  • Keeps up to date on technical advancements and makes suggestions on new technologies that align with event needs and budget parameters.
  • Understands, complies with, and promotes all rules regarding resident rights. Promotes positive relationships with residents, visitors, and regulators, to include presenting a professional appearance and attitude.
  • Able to relate positively and favorably to staff, residents and families, and to work as a team with other employees at all levels. Documented ability to function and excel in a team environment. Interdepartmental collaboration will be a daily occurrence.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Three (3) years work experience as an AV Technician or Specialist.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of audio/visual systems set up and operations.
  • Associate degree or equivalent coursework in a related field such as audio/visual technologies, audio engineering or lighting design preferred.
  • Proven understanding of Zoom, Team, WebEx and other video collaboration platforms.

The starting wage depends on experience and education. This is a full-time position scheduled to work Tuesday to Saturday and requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule for occasional special programming.
