GENERAL OVERVIEWThe incumbent is responsible for the provision of timely, courteous and quality personal services to the residents of The Culpeper in a manner that meets or exceeds LifeSpire’s statement of philosophy.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Mission, Values and Vision of LifeSpire of Virginia
  • Assists with preparation of residents in examining rooms during physician visits.
  • Registers residents who utilize clinic services, along with the reason for their visit.
  • Directs residents who utilize clinic services, along with the reason for their visit.
  • Directs residents to appropriate clinic personnel.
  • Makes appointments for residents with hospitals and physician as requested by authorized persons and provides               notification to residents of the same. 
  • Copies information sheets and other appropriate information for residents who are transferred to physician appointments,      diagnostic tests, or admission to hospital. 
  • Coordinates transportation of residents to hospitals and physician appointments.
  • Records resident requests for prescription medications for the Clinic Nurse.
  • Transports residents to medical appointments if necessary.
  • Assists with maintenance of resident records as appropriate.
  • Receives all telephone calls for clinic personnel.
  • Attends regular in-service training.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of all resident-related information.
  • Refrains for participation in the promotion of gossip with regard to residents or staff within the facility.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor in a prompt and cooperative fashion.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current unencumbered license as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Possess CPR, First Aid, and AED certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to communicate, read, write, and follow written and oral instructions in English.
  • Must have good verbal communications and interpersonal skills and the ability to interact in a positive manner with residents.
  • Must have a minimum of intermediate level computer skills and knowledge of various software programs.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, supervisor, and employees.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a DOT physical annually and meet the terms of the Community Driving Policy.
  • Knowledge/experience in long-term gerontological nursing care.
