Structures Engineering Design Intern

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for a Structures Engineering Design Intern for the summer to join the Structures Engineering Design Team in Superior Township, MI.
Essential Duties:
- Gain knowledge of general body-in-white design for both Underbody and Upperbody
- Design example BIW components and submit for analysis. Update designs and reevaluate as needed.
- Gain knowledge and experience in Safety, Durability, and NVH aspects of the BIW design
- Benchmark competition for critical areas and report to management
- Support the team with a section properties calculator in Excel (or comparable)
- Assist lab technicians on one assigned project
- Work with other engineers both inside and outside the group to develop relationships
- Create and present reports to Engineers and Management summarizing findings
Basic Qualifications:
- Junior/Senior pursuing Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
