Job Title: Cleaner

Job Summary: We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the common areas in our multifamily apartment communities. This role is essential for ensuring a safe, welcoming, and pristine environment for our residents, guests, and staff. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance:
    • Perform daily cleaning of common areas such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, lounges, fitness centers, laundry rooms, and mailrooms.
    • Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, clean windows, and dust surfaces.
    • Empty trash and recycling bins, replace liners, and maintain waste disposal areas.
    • Ensure bathrooms in common areas are cleaned, restocked with supplies, and properly sanitized.
    • Wipe down and disinfect high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails.
  • Outdoor and Exterior Cleaning:
    • Sweep and maintain cleanliness of entryways, sidewalks, parking areas, pools and patios.
    • Monitor and clear outdoor trash cans and cigarette disposal areas.
    • Perform light snow removal, leaf clearing, and seasonal outdoor cleaning as needed.
  • Safety and Reporting:
    • Identify and report any safety hazards, damages, or maintenance needs (e.g., lightbulb replacement, broken fixtures) to the Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
    • Maintain cleaning supplies and request inventory replenishment when needed.
    • Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Assist with cleaning and preparation of vacant units as requested by the Property Manager.
    • Provide support for special events or additional cleaning projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in cleaning or janitorial work preferred, especially in a residential or commercial setting.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, stand for extended periods, and lift/move cleaning equipment.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with residents and staff.
  • Flexibility to work on weekends or holidays as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Capable of bending, reaching, and performing tasks that require manual dexterity.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs for extended periods.
