Lexicon Manager, Data ScienceThe Lexicon Manager, Data Science is responsible for the development, execution and maintenance of Lexicon's data science, quality, and validation strategy. This role manages the data science team with the objective of driving organizational continuous improvement through high quality analysis.About UsLexicon is a legal services and technology provider with deep expertise in the legal industry.   • Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Data Science, Computer Science, IT, or similar field from an accredited institution required, master's degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years' experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer or in a Data Science role
  • 2+ years of experience with quality and/or validation activities
  • 2+ years of experience working with and analyzing data for consistency and validity.
  • Current Six-Sigma, Quality Engineering, and/or Quality Auditing certifications, or willingness to obtain, are desirable.
  • 2+ years of Supervisor experience leading a team and working in an agile data analytics and data engineering development environment.
  • Exposure to business intelligence, data warehousing, data strategy, and machine learning projects
  • Extensive experience in engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or data visualization software (e.g. PowerBI).
  • Working experience drafting and formatting technical/business documents
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases, ETL processes, and SQL development
  • Excellent analytical and computer skills with the ability to quickly pick up new programs and techniques.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving skills
  • Exceptional communication skills and stakeholder management experiences (Need to ensure the Manager can communicate technical things to non-technical stakeholders in summary.)
  • Proficient in the knowledge and use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Expert Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
  • Data visualization experience with PowerBI or an equivalent tool
  • Strong analytical, statistics, and numerical skills
Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage quality management system to support continuous improvement activities and the associated measurement and reporting that accompanies this system.
  • Interacts with stakeholders to establish business metrics and analytical frameworks that measure our customer's performance, their clients' experience, and Lexicon's effectiveness in supporting our customer.
  • Develop, implement, and manage data science business system to support/prioritize and manage data science resources to complete client data requests in a systematic and measurable fashion.
  • Work closely with the Data Science team to ensure internal and external client data requests are prioritized and are being worked in accordance with that prioritization.
  • Work closely with Legal Operations management to ensure continuous improvement activities and quality service levels are being measured and maintained.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators for the Data Science, Validation, and Quality systems and report on KPI metrics to executive management on a periodic basis (monthly/quarterly) to ensure system health.
  • Work with leadership and the Data Science team to develop processes and systems to prioritize business and information needs.
  • Ensure all data elements and calculations are defined, documented, and utilized in data outputs and the standardization is available to the data science team for improved data visualization and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate complex statistical concepts and output to non-experts in both a written and verbal manner.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and opportunities and have the initiative to pursue solutions.
  • Is the in-house subject matter expert and will be instrumental in helping the Company continue its evolution into a data driven, analytical culture.
  • Analyzes new data sources for availability and quality and integrates with internal sources to support research or analytics.
