As an Automation / Controls Engineer, you will spearhead the design, development, and testing of control systems, ensuring seamless operation of automated machinery and equipment. The ideal candidate excels in analytical thinking, boasts exceptional problem-solving prowess, possesses a profound grasp of both electrical and mechanical engineering principles, and thrives in collaborative team environments.


Role Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and rigorously test control systems to meet customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Develop and continually optimize PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) programs for seamless integration with automated machinery and equipment.
  • Write, debug, and optimize code tailored to a variety of robotic systems, including 6-axis, Cartesian, and SCARA robots.
  • Generate comprehensive wiring diagrams and schematics essential for the efficient operation of automation cells.
  • Program and uphold machine vision systems to enhance operational efficiency and quality control.
  • Employ advanced troubleshooting techniques to swiftly diagnose and rectify control system issues, ensuring uninterrupted equipment functionality.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with mechanical and electrical engineering counterparts to seamlessly integrate control systems with various equipment configurations.
  • Produce detailed technical manuals, drawings, models, and training documentation alongside comprehensive preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting guides for newly implemented automated equipment and processes.
  • Efficiently manage project budgets and schedules, providing regular progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Remain abreast of the latest industry trends and technological advancements in control system technology to continually enhance project outcomes.
  • Offer expert technical support to both customers and internal teams throughout the installation, commissioning, and maintenance phases.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation pertinent to control system design, development, and testing processes to ensure transparency and facilitate future improvements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering.
  • Demonstrated 3-5 years of hands-on experience in the design and development of intricate control systems.
  • Extensive proficiency in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) programming and troubleshooting.
  • Proven expertise in machine vision technologies, with practical experience using platforms such as Keyence or Cognex.
  • Thorough understanding and familiarity with motion control systems, robotics, and servo drives, facilitating seamless integration and operation within diverse automation environments.
  • Track record of utilizing industrial communication protocols effectively to establish robust connectivity and data exchange.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, coupled with a keen eye for detail, enabling swift identification and resolution of complex technical issues.
  • Strong collaborative spirit, adept at working harmoniously within cross-functional teams to achieve shared objectives and milestones.
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in drafting software such as AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of safety standards and regulations, ensuring compliance and fostering a culture of workplace safety and risk mitigation.
