Rebar Fabricator

P & M Steel Company is a custom steel fabricator with over 50 years in the Sioux Falls area seeking a Rebar Fabricator to join our team.  The Rebar Fabricator creates the reinforcing steel products per project specifications in an efficient and safe manner for P & M Steel by operating machine shop equipment under the supervision and direction of the Shop Supervisor.

Wages:  $17-18 per hour depending on experience

Monday through Thursday, 10 hour day shift.  Friday, 5 hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates shearing machine to cut reinforcing steel bars to specific lengths.
• Operates bending machine to bend reinforcing steel bars to specified shape. 
• Assembles and loads orders onto trailers for shipping.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Shop Supervisor.
• Accurately reports time tracking for project costs.
• Communicates progress status to Shop Supervisor for scheduling.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance from Shop Supervisor.

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing related experience, preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, preferred
• Attention to Detail

Education

• High School diploma or Equivalent, required.
