Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled travel Trauma Emergency Registered Nurse (RN) to join our talented team. As a Registered Nurse (RN) at WTCP, you will have the opportunity to contribute to patient care and improve their outcomes. This department provides care for wide variety of patients, including those with COVID-19. Unit receives approx. 75,000 adult patients per year, Levels I - III by ground and air. Adult ER takes Pediatric Trauma patients as well as Adult trauma. Non-trauma pediatric patients are cared for in a separate Pediatric ER department. Safety Sensitive position*

  • The location is in Tulsa, OK
  • The working schedule for this role is 7p-7a with every other weekend rotation; No blocked schedule is available
  • The duration is as a contactor for 13 weeks
  • The anticipated start for this role is two weeks after an accepted offer
  • Holiday coverage is required
  • Guaranteed hours: 36
  • EMR used: Epic
  • 55-bed Trauma Emergency Center (TEC)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate, complete health care records and reports
  • Administering medications to patients and monitoring them for side effects and reactions
  • Recording patient vital signs and medical information
  • Monitoring, reporting, and recording symptoms or changes in patient conditions
  • Administering non-intravenous medications
  • Assessing, implementing, planning, or evaluating patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members

Qualifications:

  • Current and unencumbered RN state licensure
  • 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the appropriate unit for this role
  • Prior 'Trauma' Level I/II Experience strongly preferred
  • Additional critical care / progressive care / med surg tele experience a PLUS but NOT a substitute for ER
  • BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA) and NIHSS required;
  • TNCC/ENPC preferred
  • Bachelor degree in nursing preferred
  • Epic experience required
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians and hospital staff
  • Basic computer skills
  • Professional, friendly attitude
