Primary Purpose of the Position

The inspector is responsible for ensuring aircraft are maintained in conformity with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and manufacturers specifications. The Inspector is responsible to check the workmanship, material, standards, and procedures of the Modern Aviation maintenance activities. Reports discrepancies noted to the Chief Inspector. Performs inspection of work accomplished by airframe and powerplant mechanics.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure that all maintenance and alterations performed by this repair station are in accordance with the Ratings and Operations Specifications of the FAA 145 Repair Station.
  • Accomplish inspections and related functions as directed by job cards, maintenance manuals, ADs as specified by the work packages and the Repair Station.
  • Review paperwork, including but not limited to, maintenance forms, parts tags, job cards, log pages and tally sheets to ensure compliance with the Repair Station Manual.
  • Train and assist all personnel performing work under the Repair Station certificate as directed by the Chief Inspector.
  • Ensure appropriate calibrations and checks are made on the tools and equipment used by the Repair Station.
  • Report any identified risks associated with the Repair Station to the Chief Inspector.
  • Perform all actions required for Return to Service.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively employees, customers and the FAA as required.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Perform job duties in a safe manor.
  • Punctual to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active and current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics License with current FAA Inspection Authorization.
  • Minimum of 2 years of inspection experience.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, as well as inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used to determine the quality or airworthiness of an article undergoing maintenance, repair or alterations.
  • Proven track record of consistent performance while delivering high levels of customer service to internal and external customers is required.
  • Demonstrated record of integrity and sound ethical judgment.
  • Must demonstrate commitment to quality and safety in all maintenance.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to professionally communicate with customers.
  • Possess adequate tools.
  • Valid drivers license with good driving record.
