Position Summary
As Lead Carpenter at SES Construction, you will oversee and participate in all phases of carpentry work, from framing to finish. You will be responsible for leading a team of carpenters, ensuring the quality of work meets our high standards, and projects are completed on time and within budget. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a carpentry team, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Perform a wide range of carpentry tasks, including framing, roofing, finishing, and custom work, with a high level of craftsmanship.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate material requirements.
  • Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintain a safe and clean worksite, adhering to company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices, promoting a culture of learning and professionalism.
  • Provide input on project planning and scheduling, helping to identify potential efficiencies or issues.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Carpenter, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, including installation, construction, and repair.
  • Excellent ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, capable of coordinating effectively with team members, management, and clients.
  • Familiarity with construction management software is a plus.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in construction or carpentry is highly advantageous.
