Communications and Events Associate
Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications and the Chief Development Officer. This position is part of the Development and Communications team, which includes the Chief Development Officer, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Development Associate. The Communications and Events Associate works closely with all team members. This position may supervise college or high school interns, primarily in the summer. The work is excellent for someone looking to deepen their skills in a broad range of communications activities, event planning, and nonprofit development. The Communications and Events Associate is responsible for supporting all marketing and communications projects as well as being involved in community engagement projects and event planning to contribute to fundraising revenue goals.
Essential Duties
- Work in collaboration with the Development Associate and other team members to help plan and execute special events, including joint management of event logistics, volunteer and community recruitment and oversight, outreach, and sponsor stewardship and recognition.
- Liaise with Development Associate to help organize and lead events and corporate service days.
- In collaboration with Director of Marketing and Communications, develop content for social media, email campaigns, newsletters, annual reports, website content, brochures, signage and other collateral.
- Interview patients, staff, and community partners. Take photos, and write compelling content for print and digital publications.
- Work with external printers, graphic designers, photographers, videographers, and other vendors to produce event collateral (signage, invitations, etc.) as needed.
- Utilize and maintain digital platforms, including donor database (Bloomerang), website content management system (WordPress), email (MailChimp), design (Canva) and social media management (Hootsuite) tools.
- Foster an active online community by engaging with users across Dimock’s digital platforms,.
- Coordinate annual appeal mailing projects and write appeal letters and other collateral.
- Maintain vibrant connections with various
- Dimock stakeholders such as: board members, corporate partners, committee members, community partners and individual donors.
- In collaboration with the Chief Development Officer, write grant proposals and reports as needed.
- Perform research on existing and prospective donors and organizations as well as create donor briefing documents and donor impact reports as needed.
- Provide administrative support including meeting scheduling, preparing and distributing materials needed, taking minutes, etc.

Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- A minimum of two years of Development and Communications experience is required.
- Preferred Requirements
- Marketing and communications experience preferred.
- Experience with CRM database is preferred.
- Nonprofit event planning experience preferred.
Schedule
- Hybrid Position – Option to work two days remotely per week after three months of employment.
Compensation:
55,000 To 60,000 comensurate upon experience, plus benefits.
