Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Research Analyst Program is designed to introduce recent graduates with a unique background in supply chain, technology, data analytics, real estate, design, and/or construction to the specialized industrial side of the commercial real estate industry by providing immediate learning opportunities through supporting all business unit functions with research and data analysis. Stream’s National Industrial Services analysts learn about day to-day business functions and decision-making processes of either the operator or property owner teams within the asset classes of food & beverage, cold storage, manufacturing, biotechnology and life science in the areas of site selection, specialized labor analytics, program management and investment management as well as interfacing with all levels of management. The Analyst Program will create an exposure and develop the six major competencies necessary for a successful career in specialized commercial real estate: labor market dynamics, transportation and logistics, facility planning, market knowledge, financial knowledge, and legal knowledge. These essential concepts require a solid foundation knowledge in order to be successful within the Stream National Industrial Services Business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attain knowledge in understanding the full spectrum of responsibilities and day-to-day tasks involved with program management, specialized labor analytics, site selection, investment management along with development of knowledge of applicable industrial project leasing, tenant representation, real estate finance and general real estate
  • Provide research, analytical and marketing support to the Stream National Industrial Services Team
  • Assist with labor assessments, facility planning exercises, site selection process, research, data analytics and implementation, and prospect criteria development, contact list development, sourcing and prospecting with Stream National Industrial Services Leadership Team
  • Gather and evaluate economic, demographic, and real estate market data to identify new specialized business opportunities for the team (Within Food & Beverage, Cold Storage, Manufacturing, Biotechnology and Life Science)
  • Develop relationships in the specialized real estate industry
  • Coordinate sales pitch materials
  • Assist with special projects as needed
Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree (Focus areas of Supply Chain, Technology, Statistics, Real Estate, Design, Construction, Engineering Preferred)
  • Attention to detail and an organized work style 
  • Previous internship/Coop experience preferred (Focus on Supply Chain, Technology, Statistics, Real Estate, Design, Construction Preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong understanding of analytics and familiarity with financial concepts
  • Demonstrated interest in the specialized commercial real estate industry (F&B, Manufacturing, Cold Storage, Life Science, and Biotechnology Specifically)
  • Track record of involvement on campus, preferably in a leadership position 
  • Proficient with MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Resourceful in nature and a creative problem solver
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic work environment
