Role Overview:
The Global System Administrator will play a critical role in supporting Edgy Labs' mission by ensuring our IT infrastructure is robust, secure, and efficiently managed across all operating systems. This role demands a unique blend of technical expertise, particularly in managing Google Workspace within varied operating environments, and the skill to administer IT functions remotely for our global workforce. We're looking for a visionary tech enthusiast who can navigate the complexities of a fully remote IT landscape, driving operational excellence and enabling our team to achieve their best work from anywhere in the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain Edgy Labs' IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security across a range of operating systems (Linux, Windows, macOS) in a fully remote setup.- Expertly manage Google Workspace, ensuring seamless integration and maximized efficiency across our global, remote teams.- Develop and implement IT policies and systems that support remote work, including secure remote access, cloud services, and endpoint management.- Coordinate with the security team to enforce and update security protocols and practices, safeguarding company data and systems against cyber threats.- Provide leadership in the planning, development, and execution of IT projects, ensuring they align with organizational goals and IT standards.- Offer remote technical support and guidance to our global team, promoting a culture of tech-savviness and self-reliance among non-IT staff.- Remain up-to-date with technological advancements, especially those that enhance remote work capabilities, recommending and implementing tools and practices that drive efficiency and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.- Minimum of 5 years experience in system administration, with a strong background in managing remote IT operations for a global team.- In-depth knowledge of Google Workspace and its deployment across various operating systems.- Familiarity with remote IT administration tools and practices, including VPNs, cloud services, and remote desktop and support solutions.- Professional certifications related to system administration, Google Workspace, and remote IT management are a plus.- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, capable of delivering innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.- Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in English; additional language skills are beneficial.- Proven ability to work autonomously in a fully remote environment, demonstrating strong organizational and time-management skills.
