GAS PLUMBER
We are seeking an experienced Gas Plumber to join our outstanding generator installation crew. Full-time, 4-day work weeks
We are a local and family owned, third generation solar, battery and generator installation and service company, since 1971. We are also the leading Premier Generac dealer and service provider in the North Bay. We provide our team with excellent training to aid them in their success. All necessary training, tools and equipment will be provided, including well maintained, fully loaded company trucks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with a gas crew to install, repair, replace, and test natural or propane gas lines for both residential and commercial generator installations.
- Interpret blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials.
- Carry out basic trade instructions, read and interpret drawings, electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
- Follow current rules and regulations related to plumbing to ensure that systems pass inspection the first time.
- Assembles fittings and valves for installation.
- Modify length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for a building, with saws, pipe cutters, soldering or welding, as necessary.
- Analyze problems and identify appropriate strategy, tools and materials for repair.
- Performs inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts.
- Load and unload materials and equipment as directed.
REQUIREMENTS
- At least 2 years of experience in gas plumbing or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of gas lines, tools and equipment.
- Able to read and understand blueprints, plans and specs and perform layouts
- Solid work ethic. Able to work and stay on task with limited supervision
- Ability to operate equipment and power tools
- Creative and resourceful in finding solutions to problems or obstacles
- Reliable with good time management and organizational skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
- Physical ability to dig and perform typical tasks associated with plumbing and gas pipe fitting
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test
