POSITION SUMMARY


The Power Generation Technician will lead efforts to ensure continuous prime power operations through preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and major overhauls of gensets, engines, alternators, switchgears, and electrical distribution systems at our customer facilities, but mainly at our Fairview, MT facility and yard.

 

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work Safely or not at all. Value and follow all safe work practices, company policies, and client worksite regulations
  • Champion EnerStar Guiding Values
  • Maintain, repair, operate, and troubleshoot Genset systems
  • Take corrective actions to correct emergency/unscheduled outages
  • Troubleshoot/repair/rebuild/overhaul Gensets, powered support systems, vehicles, and other components (e.g., alternators, gears, compressors, and hydraulic, electric components (12/24VDC))
  • Assist in the control and distribution of the mechanical and electrical makeup and operation of powered support systems such as those described above
  • Troubleshoot and repair diesel, gasoline, and/or multi-fuel engines
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance Checks & Services on equipment
  • Order and maintain parts as needed to maintain the above equipment
  • Maintain and repair lighting and brakes on single and tandem axle utility type trailers
  • Service heavy duty trucks and perform minor repairs as required
  • Perform regular services on ½ ton up to 2 ton trucks
  • Additional responsibilities: as identified and assigned


Travel: The individual in this role may be required to travel as required by EnerStar.



POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • 3+ years as (Lead) Generator Mechanic.
  • Proficiency in diesel and electrical engine trouble shooting and repair
  • Proficiency in electrical trouble shooting and repair
