How You Will Help Us Make a Difference
In this role, you will have the opportunity to help us create a positive workplace culture for employees and a happy, productive, and welcoming environment for our club members. Here is a summary of some of our Bus Monitors’ responsibilities:
- Works with driver to teach club members safety procedures, such as how to board and exit the bus safely, and to identify danger zones around the vehicle.
- Assists the bus driver and program staff with loading/unloading club members at loading/unloading the student on and from club facilities and club-related events.
- Positions self on the bus in a location, which allows observation and assistance to all students at all times. Takes attendance of Club members as they enter and exit the bus.
- Assists the bus driver with maintaining safe and comfortable transportation for assigned club members to and from designated stops. Works with the bus driver as a team to transport students to and from clubs safely.
- Maintains discipline on the bus in accordance with recommendations of the administration. Enforces safety rules and provides firm but respectful direction to club members. Recognizes individual club members’ capabilities and exceptionalities while maintaining order on the bus and while establishing rapport and being sensitive to club members' individual needs, as required.
- Provides mentoring, guidance, and role modeling to club members and overall direction and guidance before, during and after rides.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Must pass pre-employment Level 2 background check and drug test.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of two years of work-related skills, knowledge, or experience is required.
- CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred.
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Experience in working with children and knowledge of youth development.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic, positive attitude, high level of energy and flexibility.
- Proven strong communication, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and motivate youth and manage behavioral problems.
- Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
- Must be comfortable speaking respectfully to youth and maintaining bus discipline before, during and after bus rides.

- Part-Time role (1-5 pm with intermittent evening hours for special events)
- $15 per hour
