TITLE: Shipping & Receiving Clerk
DEPARTMENT: Warehouse
REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for performing the tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
Essential Functions:
Pick and ship customer orders accurately and in the timeframes required
Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, identifies damaged items, check shortages, and corresponds with warehouse manager to rectify damages and shortages
Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, banding, labeling).
Sort and place product in proper rack locations
Accurate pulling/packing orders for shipping.
Assist in counting of physical inventory.
Operate warehouse equipment, including a forklift, picker and reach truck.
Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for all associates.
May sweep the warehouse area.
Perform other general warehouse duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
Ability to perform but not limited to the following tasks, be familiar with and able to interpret packing slips, enter into the computer the correct information, to acknowledge receipt of the goods into the purchase order and processing database.
Must be familiar with proper packaging methods
Forklift Certified
High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
2 or more years of related experience working in similar industry. Good verbal communication skills
Read and write follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee continuously is required to use hands or fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is continuously required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch (package and band products). The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50lbs pounds, and frequently mount & dismount warehouse lift equipment.
