What would you do as a Physical Therapy Assistant - Mobility Coach

As a Part Time Physical Therapy Assistant - Mobility Coach at Missoula Bone & Joint and Surgery Center, you will play a vital role in the recovery journey of total joint patients post-surgery. Your focus will be on working closely with these patients in the 23 Hour Stay Unit, helping them regain mobility and independence to facilitate their smooth discharge. By providing personalized care and guidance, you will contribute to the patients' overall well-being and recovery progress. This position offers a unique opportunity to directly impact individuals' lives during a critical stage of their healing process, making it a rewarding experience for those who are passionate about helping others regain function and mobility.

What we're looking for in a Physical Therapy Assistant - Mobility Coach

To excel as a Physical Therapy Assistant - Mobility Coach at Missoula Bone & Joint and Surgery Center, proficiency in various skills and tools is essential. The successful candidate will possess expertise in mobility and lifting safety precautions to ensure the well-being of patients and prevent injuries. Proficiency in gait training techniques is crucial for assisting patients in improving their walking patterns and mobility. Strong capabilities in providing clear and effective home exercise instructions are necessary to support patients in their recovery journey outside of the healthcare facility. Additionally, experience in durable medical equipment (DME) fitting and education will be beneficial in helping patients navigate and utilize assistive devices effectively.

A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on industry best practices is key to delivering high-quality care to patients.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • State of Montana PT, PTA or ATC License
  • BLS
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Team oriented personality
