Little Leaders of KCK-PDS is looking for fun, energetic, and passionate early childhood toddler floating teacher to assist in our toddler classroom. The person selected for a teaching position at Little Leaders of KCK-PDS should be someone who desires to work with children and families and works well as part of a teaching team. The applicant(s) must be responsible individuals that are emotionally and physically able to perform daily duties and relate well with others. The hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00-5:30. Candidates must meet the minimum state requirements for working in a licensed childcare program, including a current health assessment with negative TB reading, current first aid and CPR. The individual selected for the position must submit to a comprehensive background check as well. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED and have 6 months of experience teaching in a licensed program. Applicants must meet all KDHE requirements for working in a licensed childcare program prior to hire.
Job responsibilities include, but not limited too
- Create a nurturing, supportive, and safe classroom environment that encourages infants’ developmental growth
- Implement age-appropriate curriculum that focuses on a variety of developmental areas such as motor skills, social interaction, and sensory awareness
- Monitor and report on toddlers’ development and behavior, including milestones and potential developmental delays
- Change diapers and assist in potty-training, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and hygiene
- Serve lunch according to a schedule and dietary guidelines provided by parents or caregivers
- Ensure safety and well-being of the toddlers at all times, and adhere to safety and emergency procedures
- Communicate regularly with parents or caregivers about the toddlers’ progress and needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, engaging and age-appropriate learning environment
- Administer first aid as necessary and handle toddlers’ medical emergencies
- Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence
