Position Overview

The Tie-In Operator position is a non-exempt, hourly position responsible for maintaining, cleaning and doing general upkeep of textile rapier looms; Changes warps, ties on new warps, starts up new warp. The essential functions of this position may include any or all of the following to be performed primarily alone.

What you'll do

It is essential that the Tie-In Operator spend approximately 90% of his/her time performing tie-in functions and 10% spent cleaning and maintaining.

  • Put all ends back in a warp-out
  • Clean reed and harness
  • Clamp pattern and roll up
  • Cut waste off beam, take it out, and weigh waste
  • Cleans loom thoroughly
  • Puts new warp in loom, load warp, and check lease for double and ends out of lease, top and bottom
  • Oil both top and bottom load, tie warps, unload and pull over
  • Store lease rods and clamps in wall racks in proper place
  • Blow off tie machine at end of shift
  • All other duties as assigned

Who you are

The Tie-In Operator position has the following required (or preferred, as indicated) education:

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Willingness to get a company issued Forklift license
  • Strong record of attendance
  • Ability to adhere to safety measures
