Heavy Equipment Operator, Shipping Department
Reports to Warehouse Supervisor, Chattanooga TN

Primary Responsibilities

Load Equipment Centers, Generator Enclosures and other shipments that often exceed $1,000,000. in value safely and efficiently, using equipment deemed to be optimal for the task (varies).
Work Closely with Heavy Haul Transportation providers to ensure secure shipments.
Work closely with shipping to provide accurate shipping details for each shipment.
Work in conjunction with crane subcontractors to ensure safe, secure and timely utilization of their services.
Operate a range of heavy equipment, including various forklifts up to 60,000 pound capacity, and mobile crane devices.
Ensure OSHA and company safety procedures are communicated and encouraged.
Prepare buildings for shipment by boarding openings, banding doors, and installing any additional equipment needed for proper and safe loading of building.
Load buildings onto trucks using forklift (up to 60,000 pound capacity) or other approved lifting and moving equipment and tools.
Determine the optimal equipment for the task, which is especially critical with dimensions and weights encountered with AZZ products.
Unload inbound electrical and other major equipment deliveries, values exceeding $500,000.00 using optimal equipment. Safe handling is essential for this often-delicate equipment.
Assist manufacturing as necessary with major onsite logistic needs such as moving in process enclosures and CSE.
Assist receiving in unloads of large inbound shipments such as CSE and Diesel Generators.
Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
Keep materials and work area clean, organized and free from clutter or any potential safety hazards.
Ensure all materials and equipment are organized, used and stored properly.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED
At least three (3) years' experience operating heavy equipment
Must be able to climb in and out of equipment unassisted
Ability to have a flexible work schedule, including working overtime and weekends as needed
