The Clinical Social Worker will provide comprehensive in-person social work services to patients, caregivers, and families within the Clinical Center. This role involves collaborating with staff on various projects and protocols, offering psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and discharge planning. The position requires strong clinical skills, experience in medical social work, and the ability to navigate complex healthcare and community resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans for patients participating in research protocols.
  • Provide crisis intervention, individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care and develop safe discharge plans.
  • Facilitate patient and family access to community resources and services.
  • Document patient interactions and clinical findings according to standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to research project planning and patient recruitment.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Licensure for Independent Clinical Social Work Practice (LCSW-C for MD, LICSW for DC, or LCSW for VA).
  • 5-8 years of post-licensure clinical social work experience, preferably in a medical setting.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and medical documentation systems.
