SUMMARY

This full-time in-office position is primarily responsible for providing product engineering support for a single core product line to Sales and customers by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Complete understanding of Unex product line with the main responsibility of one specific product.

· Supports Sales and Engineering staff, distributors and end users with application assistance, concept development, case studies, education and quoting of projects.

· Devoted to new product development and continuous improvement of core product line.

· Stay updated with the latest material handling technology, trends and practices to ensure long term reliability and competitiveness of the core product line.

· Creation of components, concepts, solutions, ergonomic evaluations and drawings.

· Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP/MRP systems

· Conducts customer site visit as required.

· Responsible for product training.

· Participates in trade shows and trade show planning.

Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks; where applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

· Mechanical Engineering degree or similar from four-year college or university

· 5+ years related experience and/or training

· Or equivalent combination of education and experience

COMPUTER SKILLS

· Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, Access

· CAD/CAM software – SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Simulation software

· ERP/MRP software


OTHER SKILL, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • Material handling and conveyance product knowledge.
  • Fluent in Solidworks, Solidworks PDM and AutoCAD.
  • Understanding of blueprint layouts and tolerancing methods
  • Technical writing skills for process documentation and proposal writing


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Spanish speaking is a plus.
