Summary of Duties:

Support the Fabricating department by providing a full range of technical training for all machines, parts, components, and systems within the department for all new and existing operators. Collaborate with members of management to create, maintain, and/or utilize training materials and training assessments. Assist department management in any other activities needed to meet established production and quality expectations.

What You'll Do as a Trainer:

  • Perform analysis studies with management to establish knowledge and skills required for each operation to ensure successful performance.
  • Evaluate individual operators and establish a training plan based on their needs and/or current understanding of materials and job performance.
  • Provide on-the-job training to new and existing operators utilizing existing training materials while assessing the need for additional or updated materials.
  • Maintain training records of all operators within the department, ensure training records are accessible on the network.
  • Conduct regular evaluations, utilizing the Job Observation form, on all operators and processes within the department to bridge any potential gaps in either the training of the operators or the process itself.
  • Work with management and quality department to ensure that the most recent training materials and processes are being utilized.
  • Conduct regular ongoing training on any new processes, quality alerts, changes in work orders, or any other pertinent changes that might affect productivity and quality within the department.
  • Establish and maintain a library of appropriate training materials.
  • Provide support and communication to any area of the department when required to meet production and quality expectations.

What You'll Do as an Operator:

  • Ability to learn and operate various CNC and other fabrication machines as needed.
  • Perform set ups as necessary including part programming.
  • Detect machine malfunctions or out of tolerance machining.
  • Verifies quantity and size of fabricated items using various measuring devices.
  • Visually inspects products for conformance to specifications.

Requirements:

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • Ability to learn and operate various CNC and other fabrication machines as needed.
  • Perform set ups as necessary including part programming.
