The GEICO Local Office in Lynbrook is looking to hire an upbeat, motivated, and hard-working individual for our Sales Representative position. This is an in-office position and includes working with customers both over the phone and face-to-face to assist them with their insurance needs and sell a portfolio of insurance products to fit those needs. An active Property and Casualty or Personal Lines insurance license is preferred but not required. Bilingual is also preferred but not required.

The ideal candidate will have a friendly and welcoming personality with the ability to effectively interact and communicate with customers and give accurate and complete information and recommendations to customers to assist in selling auto, homeowners, motorcycle, jewelry, and other personal lines products. The ability to provide excellent customer service while also efficiently and effectively selling insurance and maintaining a high level of professionalism is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Receive inbound calls and walk-in customers interested in obtaining insurance
  • Make out-bound calls to prospective clients to pursue sales
  • Effectively and assumptively ask for the sale and handle customer responses
  • Make proper recommendations on products through effective cross-selling
  • Provide expert and professional advice on all aspects of the insurance policy
  • Follow up timely with customers
  • Provide exceptional customer service in all interactions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all customers

Requirements
  • Possess a genuine willingness to learn, be intuitive, resourceful, and coachable
  • Possess an upbeat, positive, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Proficiency to multi-task and complete follow up tasks when needed
  • Experience with understanding customer needs and selling appropriate products to those needs
  • Great customer service skills
  • Problem-solving capabilities
  • Professional phone etiquette
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Proficient in English and Spanish (oral and written) (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with office machines (printers, computers, iPad)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • HS diploma required
