Job DescriptionJob DescriptionA leading private label company in NYC specializing in quality denim and non-denim bottoms is now hiring a bottoms designer. This is a great opportunity to focus on the junior and young adult market and offer trendy and stylish options. This is a hybrid position today with the possibility of going into the office 5 days a week before the end of the year.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creating and developing innovative and fashionable denim and non-denim bottoms. for our junior and young adult lines.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, ensuring products meet major retailers' standards and preferences within the mass retailer space.
  • Create unique and trend-setting designs for denim and non-denim bottoms, including jeans, shorts, skirts, and pants.
  • Stay updated with the latest fashion trends, particularly in the junior and young adult segments, to ensure current and competitive designs.
  • Work with suppliers who service Walmart USA or comparable department stores, ensuring high-quality production and adherence to timelines.
  • Develop collections that align with the brand’s vision and market demands.
  • Prepare detailed technical sketches and specifications for production.
  • Oversee sample production and provide feedback to suppliers to maintain product quality and consistency.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience designing denim and non-denim bottoms, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
  • Current experience working with suppliers that service Walmart USA or comparable department stores.
  • Proven experience in designing for the junior and young adult market, with an understanding of their style preferences and trends.
  • Proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal teams.
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong sense of fashion and creativity.
  • Able to work in a fast environment and flexible to change direction when need be.
