Community Liaison

$22.00 per hour

We are looking for an outgoing and driven person for our Community Liaison position. In this role the right person will be developing and uncovering various class and activities for individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities.

About our Company:

STAR, Inc., is a non-profit located in Norwalk, CT that provides support services to adult aged individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities and their families for over 70 years. This takes many different forms but all with the same goal of improving the lives of those we serve. We help the individuals we support become the fullest versions of themselves through the values of inclusion, independence, and freedom of choice.


A Day in the Life of the Community Liaison:

Our Community Liaison works everyday to fulfill some of those most important missions of our agency: inclusion and independence. This person is working with various businesses, volunteers and artists in the surrounding area to uncover opportunities & classes for our individuals to experience something that could be meaningful to them. It could be coordinating a dance class, locating a musician who would teach our individuals a how to play an instrument - anything that helps the people we serve discover and enrich their lives.

This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is detailed, can think outside of the box and is passionate about helping others learn new things. Our Community Liaison works with our team to make sure each day has excitement and variety for our participants.

Schedule:

Full Time Monday-Friday
