Meals on Wheels Orange County is the largest nonprofit provider of nutrition and supportive services for at-risk older adults. It is committed to erasing hunger and loneliness for at-risk older adults through nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks, and keeping families together through day services. Through its critical services, the organization delivers nearly 2 million meals to 20,000 at-risk older adults each year throughout Central and North Orange County. Hours:
Mon-Fri, 20 hours week
Entry Level Position: Rate varies depending on experience
Location: Anaheim, Ca

We are excited to share the hourly range for this position is
$18.00 - $19.00 hour, exclusive of fringe benefits. If you are hired at MOWOC, your final compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience in addition to internal pay. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth.

JOB SUMMARY: This is a part-time position for 20 hours a week. This position requires an eye for detail, accuracy, and timeliness with entering daily incoming Donor Donations and Direct Mail into the excel Deposit Log. Timely processing of deposits is critical for timely mailing of acknowledgement letters to our donors from the Advancement Department. This position also includes filing and assisting with processing accounts payable invoices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparing, sorting, and recapping daily mail of donor donations in excel.
  • Assisting with daily processing of data from Internal Site delivery bags.
  • Assisting in answering Direct Mail questions that the Accounting staff and Advancement Team may have.
  • Assisting in the filing of paid and unpaid AP invoices.
  • Assisting in resolving any deposit and/or AP vendor discrepancies and/or requesting additional information, in order to have each vendor invoice be self-explanatory of what the purchase was for.
  • Provides support to the Accounting Department as needed.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Data entry experience or related office experience.
  • High School diploma and or currently taking accounting classes.
  • Computer literate and familiar with various computer programs such as Word and Excel, and familiar with a 10-key calculator. Will train.
  • Ability to work 15- 24 hours a week with a regular weekly schedule and ability to work with time constraints.
  • Must have excellent communication skills including, but not limited to, the ability to write clear and concise e-mails and able to communicate well over the phone.
  • Must be organized, be attentive to detail and work well in an office environment.
  • Must be able to accurately alphabetize and implement correct filing protocol.
  • Must be able to collaborate with others to ensure that document processing is completed on a timely basis and deadlines are met.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequently remains in a stationary position and traverses locations.
  • Operates equipment and computers.
  • Extends body, arms or hands as needed to perform essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Ascends/descends and frequently positions self as needed to complete essential duties and responsibilities.
  • Communicates, interprets and exchanges information accurately.
  • Occasionally moves, transports, and positions objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
