Valuations Specialist

FLSA Status: Exempt

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Valuation Manager with researching equipment values and checking online listings for errors and omissions.

EXPECTATIONS:

• Essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Conduct research on equipment values from various sources, including auctions, retail sales, and appraisals.
• Spot check online equipment listings for errors and omissions.
• Assist with conducting valuations on heavy trucks, machinery, and equipment.
• Communicate with teammates to gather information and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of valuation data and values.
• Maintain and create good internal and external relationships.
• Maintain a professional image at all times.
• Follow the Company's safety rules and safety policies.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Knowledge of heavy trucks and/or construction equipment.

Exceptional written and oral communication skills.

Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.

Experience using valuation software and Microsoft Excel, highly preferred.

Willingness to pursues valuation/appraisal certification from accredited institute.

Ability to travel as needed.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Some post-secondary education preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Oral communication over the phone and in person.

Ability to view a computer monitor.

Sitting for extended periods of time.

Alpha/numeric keyboarding

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment for this position is varied due to the differences in our work site. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic and outside weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Works indoors and out.

Some weekends and evening hours will be required.
