Job Title: Athletic Trainer - USSS Health and Resiliency Training Section

Job Description:

The United States Secret Service (USSS) is seeking an Athletic Trainer for the Health and Resiliency Training Section, responsible for enhancing the well-being of USSS members.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Hold a master's degree in Athletic Training or a closely related field, demonstrating expertise in sports medicine.

  • Possess a valid Certified Athletic Training (ATC) certification, showcasing proficiency in injury prevention, assessment, and rehabilitation techniques.

  • Have experience as a performance improvement coach and advisor, collaborating with leadership for impactful resource delivery, in-person support, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing preventative, therapeutic, and rehabilitative care programs for USSS members, ensuring the highest standards of health and fitness.

  • Provide counsel to USSS personnel on injury prevention, care, conditioning, rehabilitation, training, diet, and rest.

  • Apply protective and therapeutic measures, such as bandaging, wrapping, strapping, and padding, to prevent injury to USSS trainees.

  • Refer USSS personnel to Emergency Services or allied health care specialists as needed for further evaluation and treatment.

  • Complete and pass the USSS Physical Fitness Assessment, achieving a minimum "Good" rating in all areas.

  • Meet the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, pushing, or dragging at least 100 pounds.

  • Perform duties involving both outdoor and indoor activities, demonstrating the capability to work outdoors for extended periods in all weather conditions.
