Job Summary
As an essential member of our global engineering firm specializing in the energy and infrastructure sector, the Cost Control Analyst will support cost management and financial analysis for various projects. This role ensures accurate tracking, reporting, and forecasting of project costs, contributing to effective financial control and decision-making. The Cost Control Analyst will collaborate with project teams to ensure budget adherence and optimize cost efficiency. This role will be full time for a Refinery Turnaround and can be fully remote and at site support. This position would be long term support. The execution date of our turnaround is March 2026. The position is based out of Denver, Colorado.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Tracking and Reporting
- Monitor and track project costs, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and financial plans.
- Prepare and distribute regular cost reports, highlighting variances and potential issues.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project budgets, including initial estimates and ongoing adjustments.
- Support project managers in budget reviews and updates, ensuring accurate and timely information.
- Conduct cost forecasting and financial analysis to identify trends and provide insights for project planning.
- Assist in the preparation of financial models and scenarios to support project decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and financial regulations.
- Identify and mitigate potential financial risks, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with project teams, finance, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate cost information and effective communication.
- Serve as a point of contact for cost-related inquiries and provide support to project managers.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records of cost data, ensuring accurate documentation for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide support to senior cost analysts and project managers as needed.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills related to cost control and financial analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in cost control, financial analysis, or a related role.
- Proficiency in cost management software and general discipline-specific software tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
