Respiratory Specialist for Intake in West Omaha

Job DescriptionJob Description

Do you enjoy helping patients and customers by providing exceptional access to care and compassionate service? Come work with us as a Respiratory Specialist for Intake in West Omaha In this role, you will obtain prior authorizations, gather insurance-qualifying documentation, verify insurance benefits, and obtain required prescriptions in a timely and accurate manner. This is not a customer facing position and most of the documentation is gathered by phone or email.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Work with internal and external customers to make sure insurance coverage guidelines are met
  • Create and file orders to submit to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies
  • Assist in the smooth flow of paperwork and information within the office
  • Request assignment of benefits, prescriptions, CMNs, letters of medical necessity, and other required information Follow up on the collection of required documentation
  • Process authorization denials through appeal or facilitate Peer to Peer with Physicians as needed
  • Coordinate the delivery, set-up and pick-up of equipment, supplies, and services
  • Input and update client progress notes, including but limited to, doctor, diagnosis, and insurance updates

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of customer service; excellent customer service skills
  • Proficient working knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • General understanding of ICD-10 coding
  • Ability to understand insurance reimbursement implications of industry change
  • Must be able to maintain patient/customer confidentiality as working with HIPAA and PHI information
  • Ability to complete work through long periods of keyboarding at a desk
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work individually and with the team to complete work in a timely and efficient manner
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Health care or DME experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of billing and intake experience preferred
