We have 17 retail stores and 2 employment and training centers operating in a region spanning Manistee to Holland to Cedar Springs.Job Summary:Provide care and supervision to children of varying ages enrolled in GoodKids Child Care. Responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy environment for youth, age appropriate activities, proper documentation for children in care, and effectively communicating with parents/guardians. Parents remain onsite while children are in care. Goodwill is not a licensed child care facility.Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and monitor the safety of children enrolled in GoodKids Child Care program
  • Prepare and organize activities to support social and emotional development
  • Assist children in daily tasks such as toileting and eating
  • Communicate with parents or guardians about their child’s behavior
  • Ensure all policies and procedures are followed to maintain a safe and healthy environment
  • Provide age appropriate activities to engage children
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment
  • Attend trainings and staff meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices in child care and program requirements
  • Communicate with Goodwill leadership about program attendance, needs and continuous improvement opportunities
  • May oversee work of volunteer child care assistant
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Dexterity: requires hands to manipulate, feel, reach, lift and/or carry
  • Sensory: able to see objects, colors at close range or distance, peripheral and depth vision, communicate orally with normal hearing decibel
  • Lifting: light work (lifts no more than 20 lbs. at a time) with frequent lifting/carrying of 10 lbs.
