How you'll contribute to the team:

As a Journeyman Pipefitter, you will play a crucial role in fabricating, installing, and maintaining complex piping systems across various mechanical applications, including residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Your expertise will be vital in working with high-pressure process piping, utilizing materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and other alloys essential to sophisticated projects like hospitals, pharmaceutical facilities, refineries, manufacturing plants, and utilities.

In this role, you will design and layout work for piping systems, develop and follow work lists, and read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. You will be responsible for heavy lifting, carrying, and operating tools and equipment up to 100 lbs, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and ensuring that all tools and equipment are in good working order. Promoting safety, teamwork, and cooperation on job sites is essential. Additionally, you will train and supervise apprentices and other pipefitters, providing feedback on their progress and performance, and perform all other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to the table:

To be successful in this position, you must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and technical guidelines accurately. You should be mechanically inclined with excellent troubleshooting skills, able to work collaboratively with other contractors on job sites, and adapt quickly to changing conditions. A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required, along with excellent customer service skills. Maintaining a professional appearance and providing your own hand tools is necessary for this role.

How you'll qualify:

A minimum of four years of experience in pipefitting for mechanical systems is essential for this position. You must have demonstrated skills and knowledge in mechanical pipefitting and pressure piping systems. Additionally, you are required to have a high school diploma or GED. Possession and maintenance of relevant state and city pipefitting licenses and certifications are necessary. Leadership skills are crucial as you will be responsible for training and supervising apprentices, ensuring they develop the necessary skills and knowledge.

What to expect in the field:

The role demands significant physical activity, including the use of arms and legs, climbing, lifting up to 100 pounds, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials and equipment. You must be able to work on uneven surfaces and be exposed to various weather conditions while working on job sites.
