SUMMARY

The Engineering Intern will assist the engineering staff in the completion of the design activities required on all phases of projects. These projects could include gas, civil, electrical, construction management and surveying. Most projects will be for different aspects of the utility industry.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with customer to determine the scope of the project
  • Assist with the collection of data at locations in the field
  • Utilize standards and procedures to develop an effective design
  • Provide updates to customers and team members throughout the project
  • Enter project information into electronic work management systems
  • Attend project meetings
  • Support the construction of the project

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in a college level engineering, construction management or technical program
  • Must have interest in the utility industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • CADD experience preferred
  • Willingness to participate in a team environment
  • Willingness to work in an outdoor environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license

WORKING HOURS

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week during the school year
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 24 hours per week during the Summer Break
  • 40 hours a week during Summer Break Preferred
  • 1st Shift
