The Riddle’s Group Inc, is looking for a talented, organized professional to join our team as a Goldsmith/Bench Jeweler apprentice in our Dubuque, IA store. This position has great opportunities for growth and provides an easy way to grow into a seasoned jeweler.

As an Apprentice Goldsmith, you will embark on an enriching journey into the timeless craft of jewelry making and goldsmithing. Under the guidance of experienced artisans, you will learn and master the skills required to create exquisite pieces of jewelry, from conceptualization to final polishing. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to delve into the intricacies of working with precious metals and gemstones while honing your creativity and attention to detail.

Our Goldsmiths work in a well-equipped shop area located within the retail jewelry store. Retail Goldsmiths are supported by service centers located throughout the company, a modern manufacturing facility located in Rapid City, SD and Riddle’s Goldsmith Training Center located in Sioux Falls, SD.

Responsibilities

• Learning the Craft: Work closely with master goldsmiths to understand the techniques and processes involved in jewelry making, including metal casting, soldering, stone setting, and polishing.

• Assisting in Production: Assist in the production process by performing tasks such as filing, sanding, and polishing jewelry pieces to perfection.

• Material Preparation: Learn to prepare metals and gemstones for use in jewelry production, including cutting, shaping, and finishing.

• Quality Control: Assist in quality control measures to ensure that each piece meets the company's standards of excellence in craftsmanship and design.

• Design Development: Collaborate with designers and artisans to bring creative concepts to life, contributing your ideas and insights to the design process.

• Maintenance and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.

• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and materials to continually enhance your skills and knowledge.
