This person will also manage and administer the student employment program. Position will work at both the North Manchester and Fort Wayne campuses. Will serve as a Title IX Deputy Coordinator.
Essential job functions:
- Recruiting
- Talent Acquisition: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates for staff and faculty positions.
- Candidate Sourcing: Utilize various sourcing methods, including direct sourcing, job boards, social media, networking events, and partnerships with academic institutions, to identify potential candidates.
- Screening and Interviewing: Conduct initial screenings, interviews, and assessments to evaluate candidates' qualifications and fit for the institution.
- Collaboration: Work closely with department heads and hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and provide guidance throughout the recruitment process.
- Job Postings: Create and manage job postings on various platforms, ensuring they are accurate, engaging, and aligned with the institution's branding.
- Candidate Experience: Ensure a positive candidate experience by maintaining clear communication, providing timely updates, and offering support throughout the recruitment process.
- Compliance: Ensure all recruitment activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and institutional policies.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all recruitment activities and candidate information in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
- ATS: Maintain ATS software ensuring system is utilized to its full capacity, make process improvements to maximize effectiveness.
- Search Committees:
- Establish Search Committee: Work with hiring Dean/Dept. Chair to select and appoint committee members, ensuring diversity and representation from various departments.
- Training: Define roles and responsibilities for each committee member. Conduct basic interviewing training and review screening process.
- Screening Applications: Review and evaluate applications based on predefined criteria. Shortlist candidates for further consideration.
- Maintaining Documentation: Keep detailed records of the search process, including meeting minutes, candidate evaluations, and communications.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with institutional policies and legal requirements.
- Student Employment Management:
- Recruiting: Facilitate posting, screening, and hiring of student employees during school year for on-campus employment.
- Onboarding: Ensure onboarding processes are completed for all student employees; including background checks, required paperwork, etc.
- Training: Assign required training for student employees and supervisors in Learning Management System (LMS). Train supervisors of student employees on appropriate time keeping, policies, and procedures.
- Title IX: Will serve as a Deputy Coordinator for the University's Title IX requirements
Secondary job functions:
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on recruitment metrics, trends, and outcomes to senior management.
- Continuous Improvement: Gather feedback from search committee members and candidates to improve future search processes. Stay updated on best practices and trends in academic recruitment.
- Contact: Serve as initial contact for students and supervisors for questions/issues around employment. May refer to other members of the Human Resources team.
Qualifications—Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent professional experience required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in recruitment, preferably in higher education or a related field.
- Strong understanding of recruitment best practices and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and external partners.
- Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and other recruitment software. Experience with ADP Recruitment and Handshake preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism and integrity.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to travel between North Manchester and Fort Wayne at minimum on a weekly basis; daily basis if necessary.
- The abilities to lift approximately 20 lbs.; hear and speak clearly; sit for up to 8 hours per day; and keyboard for extended periods are all essential qualifications for this position.
