JOB OVERVIEW

The Psychology Intern, Fellow, or Post Doctoral will provide direct clinical services (evaluation, treatment), as primary therapist, to assigned patients. Will provide individual, family and group therapy in the center, offsite (i.e., school-based) and via telehealth. Conducts psychological testing including written report, and attend scheduled training seminars. Reports directly to Sr. Director of Community-Based Mental Health Services and Director of Internship.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Understanding and supporting the agency’s mission & treatment philosophy:
    1. Treats all clients, families and co-workers with respect & courtesy.
    2. Demonstrates & models sensitivity to cultural background of children, families and co-workers.
    3. Honors Sanctuary Commitments in all day-to-day activities.

  • Provides direct clinical service to assigned patients and their families and maintain productivity goals as determined by Sr. Director of Community-Based Mental Health Services.

  • Responsible for the development of clinically appropriate treatment plans, their implementation and all related documentation for cases.

  • Provides psychotherapy to patients and their families using individual, group, family in the clinic and offsite (i.e., school-based) and telehealth as well as other treatment modalities.

  • Administration of and report writing for psychological test batteries under direct supervision of a licensed psychologist.

  • Clinical service is performed under supervision of a senior level clinician.

  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in psychological assessment and psychotherapy by reading appropriate journals and books and by attending seminars and conferences

  • Performs other related duties, as required.

  • Supports overall strategic plan of the organization.

  • Ability to adhere to our organization’s core values and commitments.

NON - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Attends scheduled seminars.

  • Safely manages all aspects of job responsibilities:
    1. Maintains a safe & hazard–free work area. Effectively monitors facilities & equipment for cleanliness and hazards. Raises concerns when appropriate.
    2. Identifies potential program risks and brings these issues to the attention of the appropriate people immediately.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education/Training/Licensure:

  • Post-third year (M.A.) doctoral degree program in Clinical/School/Counseling Psychology

2. Experience:

  • Experience with treatment and assessment of children and adolescents

3. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:

  • Must have knowledge of psychological assessment and experience with multiple modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet session productivity standards
  • Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs
