Position Summary: As a Full-Time Experienced Hostess at Food & Thought 2, you will be the warm and welcoming face of our restaurant, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. Your enthusiasm for guest service will shine as you manage seating arrangements, handle reservations, and ensure smooth communication between the front and back of house. This role is perfect for someone who is energetic, upbeat, and truly passionate about hospitality. Key Responsibilities: Fanatical About Guest Service: Greet every guest with a smile and a warm welcome, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued from the moment they arrive. Seating Coordination: Escort guests to their tables, provide menus, and manage the seating chart efficiently to maintain a smooth flow of service. Manage Reservations: Handle reservations in person and over the phone, accurately tracking table availability and wait times to provide precise information to guests. Excellent Communication: Answer incoming calls, provide information about the restaurant, answer questions, and take reservations with a friendly and professional attitude. Team Collaboration: Work closely with servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service and a great dining experience for every guest. Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the entrance, waiting area, and hostess stand clean and organized, creating a positive first impression. Assist with Special Requests: Address special requests from guests, accommodate seating preferences, and assist with any guest needs to enhance their dining experience. Promote Specials and Events: Inform guests about daily specials, promotions, and upcoming events to enhance their visit. Problem-Solving Skills: Address and resolve any guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally, ensuring every guest leaves happy. Customer Service Excellence: Provide outstanding customer service to ensure every guest has an unforgettable experience. Waitlist Management: Manage the waitlist during busy times and provide accurate wait times to guests to manage expectations. Ensure Compliance: Adhere to health and safety standards and ensure compliance with all restaurant policies. Physical Requirements: Manual Dexterity: Skilled in both gross and fine manipulation, ensuring precision in handling knives and ingredients. Visual Acuity: Peripheral vision and near/far visual accuracy are crucial for maintaining safety and quality. Auditory Skills: Effectively hear and respond to instructions in a bustling environment. Strength and Stamina: Capable of handling and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Standing Endurance: Able to stand and walk for extended periods while maintaining focus and precision. Flexibility and Balance: Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, and move fluidly around the restaurant. Temperature Tolerance: Comfortable working in diverse temperatures (hot, humid, cold) and tolerating moderate amounts of dust and cleaning agents. Allergy-Friendly: Able to handle a wide variety of fresh ingredients without adverse allergic reactions. Climbing Confidence: Confidently utilize a step-stool or ladder as needed. Balance and Stability: Maintain stability and balance while executing tasks efficiently. Clear Communication: Convey instructions clearly and communicate with team members effectively, even in busy or noisy environments.
