Stewardship Officer

Job Title: Stewardship Officer ( Remote)

Organization: Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation

Main Function:

The Stewardship Officer, commonly known as a Major Gifts Officer, is a full-time position responsible for securing major ($50,000+), principal ($1M+), and planned gifts in support of the Lambda Chi Alpha Educational Foundation. The qualified candidate selected for the job will join a team of dedicated fundraising professionals working in a high-paced, donor-centered culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a portfolio of 100-125 major, principal, and planned gift prospects according to annual goals for personal visits and giving outcomes.
• Establishes and coordinates individualized identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for donors and prospects.
• Engages in direct donor solicitation of major, principal, and planned gifts
• Prepares external correspondence and internal contact reporting in a professional and timely manner
• Ensures donor information and files are maintained appropriately, accurately, and with strict confidence.

Organizational Chart:

Reports to the Stewardship Director of the Educational Foundation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Fundraising experience preferred, or equivalent sales, marketing, or nonprofit experience required.
• Ability to travel 50% of the time or more at peak fundraising times.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to appropriately and comfortably manage sensitive and confidential high-level donor information.
• Superb oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Initiative and independence in carrying out responsibilities.
• Experience utilizing prospect / client management database.
