We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician with expertise in voice data systems and fire alarm systems for clients in the Nashville, TN area. This position involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of voice communication systems integrated with fire alarms, as well as data networking tasks.

Note: This is a w2 temp to hire opportunity. 6 month contract initially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Voice Data System Installation: Install, configure, and maintain voice communication systems, including voice evacuation components integrated with fire alarm systems.
  • Fire Alarm System Maintenance: Install and maintain fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and other relevant regulations.
  • Cabling Tasks: Pull, terminate, dress, label, and test CAT5E, CAT6, and fiber optic cabling, including fusion splicing.
  • Voice and Data Jack Termination: Punch down voice and data jacks accurately and efficiently.
  • System Integration: Ensure seamless integration of voice and data systems with fire alarm and other low voltage systems, such as security and networking equipment.
  • Equipment and Device Maintenance: Maintain cabling, equipment, and devices in IDF/MDF closets and server rooms.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety measures and protocols, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams for precise installations.
  • Physical Labor: Perform tasks involving ladders and various types of lifts as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of commercial/industrial low voltage experience, specifically with voice data and fire alarm systems.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in installing and configuring voice communication systems.
  • Experience with terminating fiber and fusion splicing.
  • Knowledge of appropriate color codes for low voltage cabling.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to safely complete physical labor tasks, including working from heights.
