BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):

Assure that The Mill Casino Hotel premises are clean and maintained in an orderly condition.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee and/or supervisor.
  • Cleans and maintains departmental equipment and other work areas.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, stripping, mops, waxes, vacuums, dusts, and polishes floors, extracts carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Washes walls, ceiling, and cleans woodwork, washes windows, blinds, door panels, and sills.
  • Cleaning of awnings, signs, beams, vents all inside structure of building maintained that are reachable from working off a lift.
  • Empties and cleans waste containers.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area and disposes of in compactor or recycle container.
  • Operates departmental vehicles and equipment to include vacuums, lifts, ladders, extractor, floor machine, etc.
  • Transports small equipment, tools and supplies between departments or buildings.
  • Ability to coordinate and complete projects independently without direct supervision.
  • Maintain daily reports, maps and status of projects completed and on going.
  • Reports maintenance concerns to Lead, Supervisor or Maintenance personnel.
  • Communicates with on coming shift the status of projects.
  • Performs EVS tech duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience):
  • GED or High School Diploma preferred.
  • Previous work experience preferred, technical knowledge in operating extractors, floor machines, lifts, various types of equipment and knowledge of floor and carpet care and cleaning.
  • Ability to accomplish work tasks by a given deadline.
  • Ability to work independently and with others to accomplish objectives.
  • Ability to multi-tasking
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Ability to identify not readily noticeable areas for detail cleaning.
  • Ability to perform job from ladders or lift.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to guests and other employees of the organization.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must pass and remain in compliance with Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free work place policies

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT (the physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations will be considered to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions):

Ability to work weekends and holidays. Must be able to work flexible hours, which include day shift, swing shift and graveyard shift as business demands. Primary a graveyard shift position. While performing duties of this position, employee is required to stand for extended periods, and frequently walk, and use hands to; finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Occasionally sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately. The casino work environment may expose you to second hand smoke on a regular basis.
