Job Summary:

The Licensing and Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing the licensure, certification, and credentialing processes for the company’s pharmacies, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers. This role ensures that all necessary licenses and credentials are obtained, renewed, and maintained in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. The Specialist will work closely with regulatory bodies, healthcare professionals, and internal teams to ensure compliance with national, state wide and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Licensing Management:
  • Oversee the application, renewal, and maintenance of all necessary licenses for pharmacies, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers across multiple national jurisdictions.
  • Ensure timely submission of applications and renewals to avoid any lapses in licensing.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of all licenses and certifications in the company’s database.
  • Credentialing:
  • Coordinate and manage the credentialing process for all healthcare providers within the company, ensuring they meet all regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Verify and validate the qualifications, experience, and background of healthcare professionals, including pharmacists and technicians.
  • Work closely with credentialing bodies to obtain and renew necessary certifications and accreditations.

· Licensing Application and Renewal:

  • Prepare, submit, and manage applications for pharmacy licenses in various states and jurisdictions, ensuring all required documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Track and manage the timely renewal of existing pharmacy licenses to ensure uninterrupted operations across all locations.
  • Liaise with state boards of pharmacy, regulatory agencies, and other relevant authorities to address any questions or issues related to licensing applications or renewals.

Compliance:

  • Stay informed about changes in regulatory requirements and ensure that the company remains in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address any licensing or credentialing issues.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy and completeness of licensing and credentialing records.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the company and regulatory agencies, licensing boards, and credentialing bodies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the company and healthcare providers.
  • Provide guidance and support to internal teams regarding licensing and credentialing processes.
  • Prepare and distribute regular reports on the status of licenses and credentials to management.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve licensing and credentialing processes.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy in managing licenses and credentials.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in licensing, credentialing, or regulatory compliance, preferably within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Experience working with national licensing and credentialing requirements is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of licensing and credentialing processes and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with regulatory agencies, healthcare professionals, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in using credentialing and compliance management software.
