What are the Key Responsibilities of this role?
Factory Performance Improvement
- Development of a lean manufacturing program as an embedded part of the site Hoshin Kanri strategic plan.
- Working with each department in Landover to implement waste elimination and performance improvement programs.
- Identification and implementation of sustained groundbreaking improvements using all of the Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Education of the workforce on lean manufacturing tools and techniques (i.e. 5’s, PPS, TPM, 7 wastes, SPC, SOP etc.).
Factory Training Program
- Development of a site training program that supports people and product performance through external and internal provision.
- Development of training matrices and registers for each individual employee and refresher programs to support sustained excellence in performance.
- Liaison with external training providers for the provision of exceptional non-routine training requirements.
- Training requirements to cover all aspects of operations (i.e. Safety, Quality and Production).
People Management
- Coaching and development of direct reporting roles.
Business Support
- Post embedded factory improvement there will be a requirement to provide Lean programs in other non-factory functions such as Sales, Planning, Distribution and Marketing.
- Provide support for the organization TBEM submissions and development through implementation of noted OFI’s.
Requirements
What are the Critical success factors for the Role ?
- 5+ years minimum experience in FMCG environment.
- Proven track record in implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing programs.
- Proven track record of delivering sustained benefits through education and coaching of CI tools and techniques.
- Proven track record of deploying critical control programs for personnel training.
- Experience using SAP S/4 Hana or similar system.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
- Strong people leadership and development skills.
- Continuous Improvement (CI) mindset and approach to processes.
- Positive mindset and flexibility to adapt in a dynamic and demanding growth environment.
- Desire to take responsibility and ownership and make a difference.
- Highly numerate and financially literate.
- Ability to influence others.
- Improvement related certification is desirable (i.e. Lean qualification, Lean Six Sigma etc.).
