Operations Excellence/Industrial Engineer

Salad and Go is seeking an Operations Excellence/Industrial Engineer to develop and implement continuous improvement programs using key Lean/Six Sigma principles. This position will be onsite at our new 120,00 square foot facility in Garland, TX.
As the Operations Excellence/Industrial Engineer, you will:
- Streamline the manufacturing process with the goal of eliminating waste and improving efficiency
- Prioritize and coordinate improvement projects
- Analyze process data to identify trends, performance results, and opportunities for improvement
- Plan/Lead Lean Sigma, process improvement, and capital projects
- Manage engineering projects schedules and budgets
- Recommend cost and process improvement projects for future years for the food manufacturing plants
- Assist food manufacturing facilities with SOP standardization and development, and operator training plan implementation
- Assist production team with commissioning of new equipment
- Develop and audit Value Stream Maps to identify process improvement opportunities
- Develop, manage, and monitor KPI’s relevant to the process and business
- Train and mentor team members in the use of lean tools, ensuring transfer of knowledge, and creating a culture of continuous improvement
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science required
- A minimum of four years of experience leading and implementing Lean and continuous improvement initiatives in a food manufacturing environment preferred
- Fresh produce, food and beverage or similar industry experience required
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing operations strongly preferred
- Experience implementing root cause analysis systems
- Green Belt Six Sigma or comparative experience
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of problem-solving tools/methods
- Experience with data collection and data analysis with the goal of identifying improvement opportunities
- Strong communication skills, time management and self-direction
- Demonstrated, strong project management skills required
