Job DescriptionJob Description

Position Summary:

  • The Therapist will provide trauma-informed case management and therapy to children and adolescents being served by the hospital programs. Collaborates with hospital liaisons, schools, mental health centers, and the community to collectively address individual needs of each client and their caseload.

Education/Experience:

  • Master’s degree in social work, Family Therapy, Counseling from an accredited institution and licensed to practice in the state(s) in which you practice.
  • Minimum of one-year supervised experience in providing individual, family and group therapy to children and/or adolescents. Documented course work in child/adolescent development and individual, family and group counseling.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook

Licensure/Certification:

  • LMSW, LSW, LSCSW, LCSW, LPC, PCPC, LMFT, LCMFT or other professional license issues/approved by the state(s) in which you practice
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Valid Auto Insurance
  • At least 21 years old

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Practice conduct that displays respect for all KVC colleagues and community stakeholders regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, or ethnicity.
  • Conducts individual, group and family therapy.
  • Participates as a part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and complete comprehensive intake and assessments, initial and master treatment plans and discharge summaries.
  • Completes required documentation, including phone calls and visitations, forms and reports per agency's policy and procedures; enters documentation accurately and timely per KVC Hospitals guidelines.
  • Requires comprehensive knowledge of youth’s history, plan of care and discharge plan and available for consultation on a 24/7 hour on-call basis.
  • May participate in Utilization Review functions and reporting to insurance -companies and payors.
  • Maintain current employee profile in KVC’s HRIS tool.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all KVC policies.
  • Provides crisis intervention when necessary and use approved tools, techniques and resources available.
  • Facilitates treatment review meetings with guardian, MCO, and community partners in person or by phone.
  • Creates and maintain secure, safe, pleasant, nurturing living and learning environments.
  • Maintain compliance with state, federal and all licensure and accrediting bodies.
