Job Overview:


We are currently seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical team. This role offers the opportunity to extend capabilities into the Emergency Room, attracting an additional compensation incentive. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care, adhering to established guidelines, and fostering a safe and effective environment.


Responsibilities:


  • Assessment: Thoroughly assess patients' physical, psychosocial, and discharge planning needs each shift, meticulously documenting all findings.
  • Planning: Develop and document nursing diagnoses based on initial and ongoing assessments. Establish and record measurable short-term and long-term goals within individualized nursing care plans (NCP) upon admission.
  • Implementation: Provide care in strict accordance with physician orders and the nursing care plan, adhering to all hospital policies and procedures. Administer medications, IVs, and other treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Education: Deliver patient and family education using various methods and document these interactions.
  • Evaluation: Continuously monitor and document patient responses to care, adjusting nursing care plans as necessary. Assess and document changes in patient acuity and condition each shift.
  • Risk Management: Implement and maintain safety and risk management protocols according to hospital standards.


Qualifications:


  • Current RN licensure in the state of Kansas.
  • BLS certification required; additional certification in ACLS preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in medical-surgical nursing, with ER experience highly valued.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple patient care needs effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Commitment to professional development and maintaining clinical competencies.
